    Hugh Hetherington, M.D., is a Montana native, and his advanced medical education and military duty have given him the opportunity to travel in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Western Pacific and the islands of the Indian Ocean, all allowing him to bring both a local and global perspective to his practice. After completing his residency and fellowship training, he has kept current with the latest advances in plastic surgery through frequent attendance of national meetings, continued medical education, and extensive networking with leaders in the field. Using cutting-edge surgical and endoscopic techniques, along with state-of-the-art equipment, he provides his patients with exquisite, natural-looking results while maintaining minimal discomfort and recovery time.

    Provider Bio

    Hugh Hetherington, MD, has practiced at Bozeman Health Cosmetic Surgery + Synergy Medical Spa since 1999. Dr. Hetherington earned his medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine. After serving as brigade surgeon in Korea, he completed a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center outside Tacoma, Washington, and a fellowship in head and neck reconstruction and skull base surgery at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. He then practiced at Army hospitals in Alabama and Hawaii and in private practice in Idaho. Dr. Hetherington has held faculty appointments at Rush-Presbyterian Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, and the WWAMI program at Montana State University. He is board certified in otolaryngology and by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
