Gastroenterology

Our board-certified gastroenterologists (GIs) specialize in the treatment of diseases of the digestive system. With the latest diagnostic testing available, they use modern treatment techniques for cases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, GERD (or acid reflux disorder), difficulty in swallowing, and hepatitis.

Some of the services we offer are:

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is a procedure that allows a GI physician to see the entire colon to screen for colon cancer. It is highly effective to locate and remove precancerous polyps.

Hepatitis C Screening and Treatment

Hepatitis C is a contagious liver disease that ranges in severity from a mild illness lasting a few weeks to a serious, chronic condition. Over time, chronic hepatitis C can cause serious health problems including liver damage, liver failure and even liver cancer.

New and improved treatments are available that can cure hepatitis C for most people. Most of the new treatments are taken as pills and do not require injections. However, treatment for hepatitis C depends on many different factors. Our gastroenterologists have different treatment options available, depending on your needs.

Hemorrhoid Banding

Hemorrhoid banding is a fast and nonsurgical approach to hemorrhoid treatment. Unlike surgery, it doesn't require fasting, sedation or post-procedure care. Banding completely removes hemorrhoid symptoms. It is for internal hemorrhoids only.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Pain, bloating and abdominal discomfort could mean you are experiencing symptoms of IBS. If the symptoms impact your everyday life, then several different treatment options can be considered.

Our specialists advise on dietary changes and use of dietary supplements to help ease symptoms, as well as prescribe medications when necessary, including anti-cramping medications, those for constipation or diarrhea, and in some cases, antibiotics.

Patient Information

The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy has produced educational videos for patients to learn about endoscopic procedures and the conditions they are used to diagnose and treat.
