Physical, Speech, Occupational Therapy
& Sports Medicine
We provide physical, occupational and speech therapy services. Our therapists
provide both inpatient and outpatient therapy, allowing the patient to
go from hospitalized therapy to outpatient therapy without interruption,
and with a greater continuity in care.
It has been said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
We agree! That's why we offer a variety of injury prevention programs.
From athletes to industry, we can help decrease the risk of injury while
promoting better health.
Occupational therapy involves the evaluation, assessment, and treatment
of upper body dysfunctions caused by medical disorders and injuries and
trauma. Our goal is to enhance your quality of life by addressing activities
of daily living and by promoting your independence and well-being.
Driver's Rehabilitation & Driving Assessment
Comprehensive Driver Assessment consists of clinical testing (assessing
vision, lower extremity reaction time, cognition, and functional coordination),
and an on-road evaluation administered by a qualified occupational therapist.
The assessment determines the extent of a person’s abilities and
identifies any necessary adaptive equipment or strategies to improve and
promote a person’s fitness to drive. We have a variety of adaptive
hand controls to assess and address adaptive equipment needs and/or train
how to use hand controls to drive independently. Our goal is to promote
safe and independent driving. Contact us with questions by calling 406-414-1002.
Speech Language Pathologists are trained in helping adults correct communication
disorders, develop or restore understanding or expression of language,
as well as the treatment of swallowing and voice disorders. They customize
treatment for each individual's needs. Training in the use of augmentative
and alternative communication systems is provided when a person is no
longer able to communicate by speaking or writing. Speech and Language
Therapy services are available through outpatient services, as well as
during hospital stays.
Therapy services are often needed for, or as a result of swallowing difficulties,
language disorders, speech disorders, stroke, brain injury, voice disorders
and Parkinson's Disease and ALS.
Providing comprehensive sports-based programs to treat and prevent injury,
aid recovery and enhance performance. Our experienced and dedicated healthcare
team helps athletes in all sports not only stay at the top of their form
but also realize their full potential. We offer specialized services and
state-of-the-science equipment and treatment techniques to help athletes
attain full recovery and achieve optimal performance.
Women's Health is a specialized area of physical therapy practice that
focuses on treating conditions that primarily tend to affect women. Our
highly skilled therapists offer vast clinical experience and extensive
manual skills. This means that you can be assured of receiving the best
possible therapy, matched up with an exceptional therapist best suited
to meet your individual needs.
You are not alone. A gradual loss of bladder control or bowel movements
commonly occurs in women and is directly related to muscle control and
strength of the pelvic floor. This can occur with pregnancy or post-partum.
An evaluation is available to assess tone, symmetry, sensation and strength.
The primary goal of treatment is to increase function and quality of life
for each patient.
There is relief. There are many causes of pelvic pain, which include pelvic
floor weakness and related hip dysfunctions. These are easily treated
by physical therapy. Stretching and flexibility exercises, patient education,
biofeedback treatment, as well as manual therapy techniques are successful
methods of relief.
Physical therapy can offer exercise strength and flexibility instruction.
Our goal is to promote improved posture, spinal stability, and increased
bone density through exercise. Instruction in modified body mechanics
will be offered to minimize your risk of injury during daily activities
and recreation. If you have pain present, physical therapy treatment can
minimize discomfort and offer you options for the self-management of pain.
Our post-partum care includes repetitive stress injuries, rib pain, rectus
diastasis (separation of stomach muscles), carpal tunnel syndromes, shoulder
impediment, and pain secondary to breastfeeding postures.
We can help. Back, neck, hip, and pubic bone pain, as well as sciatica,
rectus diastasis (separation of stomach muscles), leg cramps, foot pain,
and tingling in the arms and legs does not have to be a normal part of
pregnancy or post-partum. Physical therapists are able to assess and treat
much of the pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy. With education
early in pregnancy regarding posture, stretching and positioning, many
of the symptoms can be significantly alleviated or prevented altogether.
We can help you stay healthy and learn exercises safely through pregnancy
and post-partum to increase spinal stability and prevent symptoms. We
will work to make you comfortable through your pregnancy and afterward.
Lymphedema is a specific type of swelling that can occur in the limbs,
trunk or head due to the accumulation of high-protein lymphatic fluid
just beneath the skin. This type of edema usually develops when lymph
vessels are damaged or lymph nodes are removed. Surgery and radiation
to treat cancer are common causes. Our certified lymphedema therapists
are able to treat this chronic condition with manual lymphatic drainage
(gentle, specialized massage), compression garments, exercise, and skin care.
