Montana 4-H is the youth development program of Montana State University Extension. 4-H is the largest, out-of-school youth development program in the state, reaching about 25,000 youth in all counties each year. Over the past month, AWARE has restructured our Case Management and Home Support Services models to continue to meet community needs within the limits of the budget cuts to programs. Our new program is called Mental Health Service Coordination and through this program, we are continuing to provide case management to both youth and adults as well as in-home supports for children who are at risk of out of home/school/community placement. AWARE in Bozeman also offers outpatient therapy and adolescent psychiatric services.

Our Early Childhood services have not been restructured and remain intact. We continue to provide in-home supports for children 0-5 through therapeutic family meetings as well as our PCIT and safe care services. New to our Bozeman office is Early Headstart programs. AWARE will be opening an Early Headstart center in the valley and will be providing in-home supports for families with young children.

Bozeman Health Diabetes and Nutrition Center provides a full complement of clinical and support services aimed at helping individuals manage this complex and chronic disease. We work with adults and children of all ages, families and pregnant women (including women with diabetes related to pregnancy). All services require a physician referral. This comprehensive 10 month weight loss program offering 16 weekly lifestyle classes and 6 monthly follow-up meetings is designed to help you maintain your success. Classes, limited to 40 participants, are offered by Bozeman Health Nutrition Specialists at Bozeman Health Diabetes and Nutrition Center. Call 406-414-5331 for the next start date and to register. Cost: $150 with a $50 refund to participants who complete the full 10 month program. Adult Protective Services (APS) is an agency given authority by the Montana legislature to investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of individuals over 60 years of age or developmentally disabled and over 18 years of age. In instances of imminent danger to the individual, APS may remove the individual from danger and arrange for a safe, temporary living situation. Where do I report incidents of abuse, neglect, or exploitation? Montana Law requires you to report incidents of abuse, neglect, and exploitation to the Department of Public Health and Human Services or its local affiliate, Adult Protective Services, or to the local County Attorney where the person lives or where the act took place. If the person resides in a long-term care facility, the incident should be reported to the long-term care ombudsman program. If the person is in imminent danger, the incident should be reported immediately to local law enforcement or "911". Statewide Elder Help Line 1-800-551-3191
