At-risk babies born at Bozeman Health Family Birth Center to receive infant CPR kits

Acknowledgement of a grant to purchase kits will be held September 7, 2016

<BOZEMAN>–The parents of at-risk infants born at Bozeman Health Family Birth Center have another tool for keeping their babies safe, thanks to REACH Air Medical Services, the American Heart Association and the Bozeman Health Foundation.

These families will now receive an American Heart Association Infant CPR Anytime Kit at no cost as the family is discharged from the hospital, thanks to a grant from REACH, which made 400 kits available for the next two years. REACH Air Medical Services and the American Heart Association will be acknowledged at an event celebrating the donation of these resuscitation kits on Wednesday, September 7, at 10:00 am at the Bozeman Health helicopter pad.

The AHA Infant CPR Anytime Kits can help prepare families to confidently initiate care of their infant in cases of a respiratory or cardiac emergency at home. Infant CPR can be crucial in saving vulnerable and precious lives, and the kits make learning the core skills of CPR easy and fun for the whole family.

“Partnering with organizations such as the American Heart Association and REACH Air Medical Services helps us help patients in new and creative ways,” said Jason Smith, Executive Vice President of Philanthropy at Bozeman Health Foundation. “We’re really pleased that our brand new parents now get to take the Infant CPR Anytime Kits home with them.”

REACH will have their helicopter at the event, unless it is called into service. The celebration will be relocated to the Bozeman Health Atrium in case of inclement weather. For more information, call 406-414-1085.
