Community members are invited to “Explore the Possibilities”
at the Fifth Annual Active Aging Week sponsored by Bozeman Health Hillcrest
Senior Living and Bozeman Parks and Recreation.
Scheduled for September 26-30, Active Aging Week is an offering of free
workshops and other activities “celebrating our abilities and interests
in active aging.” A great line-up of events for the local actively
aging population will be held at seven different locations around Bozeman,
with the majority offered at Hillcrest Senior Living.
The Opening Ceremony will feature Tom Tursich, an inspirational speaker
who will address the value of living an engaged life and how to keep the
golden years golden. Other workshops range from exercise classes geared
to active seniors to learning hands-only CPR, spotting (and avoiding)
scams aimed at seniors to the art of coloring, trail walks to maximizing
New activities this year include an introduction to the sport of archery,
a visit to the Bozeman Health HealthCare Connections Mobile Screening
Vehicle, learning to use an iPad, an interfaith panel on contemporary
topics, geocaching and swing dancing.
People attending ten events or more will be eligible for a chance to win
free passes to “Broadway in Bozeman” and to Bozeman Hot Springs.
