Recently, a number of Bozeman Health managers and staff members volunteered
at the Community Café, Montana’s only “Pay What You
Can Café,” and enjoyed every minute of helping the community
in a different way.
While they are used to working across the healthcare spectrum to provide
safe and professional care of patients, various groups of Bozeman Health
volunteers have spent evenings at the cafe serving food, bussing tables,
hostessing, washing dishes and more.
One volunteer admitted she and a colleague were able to serve up plates
of food without making too much of a mess, while others ran around all
night, bussing tables and making sure the customers were well hydrated.
“I have not smiled so much in a long time,” she laughed.
In fact, it was such a fulfilling experience, more Bozeman Health volunteer
nights at the Community Café are planned for this summer.
