Sweet Tips for the New Year


Getting ready to ring in the New Year? Looking for something sweet to sip with friends old and new? Jan Cole of Bozeman Health Nutrition Services suggests the following two refreshing recipes that always are popular at hospital events.

And don’t worry if you expected fewer folks at your party and want to cut the recipe but the ingredients don’t divide evenly. “In my world, punch is not an exact science,” Cole laughed. “I often make do with what we have on hand.”

Apple Orchard Punch

Servings: 100 For 25 servings

8-1/4 (32 fluid ounce) bottles of apple cider – chilled 2 32-oz bottles

8-1/4 (12 fluid ounce) cans frozen cranberry juice concentrate 2 12-oz cans

8-1/4 cups pineapple juice 2 C

12-1/2 liters ginger ale or 7-up 3 litres

Sliced apples on top

Raspberry Lemonade

Servings: 100 For 30 servings

5 (12 fluid ounce) cans of frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate 20 oz

14-2/3 cups water 5 C

1-1/2 tblsp. Lime juice ½ T

5 (12 fluid ounce) cans or bottles of Sprite or 7-up 20 oz

4-3/4 cups fresh raspberries for garnish 1.5 C

Sprigs of mint leaves
