Protect Your Skin

11-19-2015

November is National Healthy Skin Month, so learn to take better care of your skin with these tips
from the American Academy of Dermatology. Healthy skin is younger looking skin, which can be achieved by protecting your skin from sun exposure with hats, pants, long sleeves and sunglasses, hanging out in the shade and slather, slather, slather on the sunscreen.

Trash the tanning beds and sunlamps with their harmful ultraviolet rays, which accelerate skin aging. Stop smoking, eat healthy foods and get enough sleep – it’s called beauty rest for a reason. And wash your face with warm water and a mild cleanser – no soap and no scrubbing – twice a day, followed by moisturizer and lip balm to keep your skin hydrated.

Make sure your now good-lookin’ skin is healthy too. Anyone can get skin cancer, and one in five Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime. When found early, most skin cancers are very treatable.

Wrap up the celebration of Healthy Skin Month by taking advantage of the many facial treatments available at Bozeman Health Cosmetic Surgery + Synergy Medical Spa, such as this month’s special “pumpkin peel facial” a natural fruit enzyme peel perfect for all skin types that will improve your skin tone and leave your skin firm and luminous.
