Bozeman Health is required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services new Condition of Participation to have all employees and providers fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022. As a Medicare provider, and in accordance with our mission and our focus on patient and employee safety, we will comply with this requirement.

We understand that this evokes a multitude of thoughts and feelings, and we want to emphasize that it is our desire to keep all of our staff employed at Bozeman Health. Employees and providers who are not yet vaccinated must get their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by December 6, 2021 and the second dose by January 4, 2021.

As a health system, we continue to strongly encourage COVID-19 vaccination. Clinical evidence clearly demonstrates that the COVID-19 vaccine is the most effective way to prevent hospitalizations, deaths, and community transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

Employees are able to file an exemption request – either medical or religious – as appropriate to their specific situation. Bozeman Health will adhere to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's stated guidance on accommodating employees with an approved exemption.

Additionally, we recognize the complexities with Montana House Bill 702 however until there is further direction from the courts, the CMS rule remains in effect and we will proceed accordingly.
