Psychiatric Services

Bozeman Health is committed to whole-person wellness and recognizes the need for continued support of the regional care continuum. No single organization can sustain all the psychiatric services that our community needs. We are honored to be an active member of the Gallatin Behavioral Health Coalition and are grateful for our partnering regional care and service providers who are committed to strengthening the continuum as a community.

We recognize these are new clinical areas for the health system and it is our intention to demonstrate quality clinical outcomes and ensure sustainability as we provide care in each of these established areas.

Consultation and ongoing treatment is provided for patients who are self or provider referred, to address psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, trauma, psychotic disorders, bipolar spectrum, and obsessive-compulsive behaviors.

Psychiatry Walk-in Clinic

Same day, no appointment required psychiatric services are offered at the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center. Patients can be evaluated by a psychiatrist and receive resources, evaluation and support. Navigator services also help schedule services such as outpatient psychiatry or counseling, primary care, and aid with connecting to resources. Individuals seeking support for conditions like depressions, anxiety, stress, grief or mood disturbances are encouraged to utilize the walk-in services.

Available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Purple Zone on the third floor, using Entrance 7.

Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES)

PES is designed to deliver an enhanced level of care, providing a therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric needs. Our PES area opened in December 2022 and is located adjacent to the Deaconess Regional Medical Center emergency department. As the only crisis care area in the region, our PES teams help stabilize patients and ensure crisis care is accessible to those in need.

Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
Bozeman Health’s Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Deaconess Regional Medical Center, opened in September 2025 on the first floor of our inpatient wing. It is intentionally designed to support safe, compassionate and enriching therapeutic services for our patients and care teams. We currently employ a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of over 30 individuals made up of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, crisis intervention specialists, psychiatric services navigators, registered nurses, patient care technicians, occupational therapist and peer support specialists across the care system and care sites.
Bozeman Health will continue to support community health needs and is grateful to our care teams who bring this essential work to life and to our donors who support this important work through the Bozeman Health Foundation.
